- Previously substitute taught for Davis School District - Worked as a contracted historian for the US Forest Service for 2.5 years - Earned an undergraduate research grant to complete my thesis on a ghost town in Utah I am passionate about my subjects and even though I have put off my graduate degrees to be a mother, I am still studying and learning so that when I do go back to school I won't be too rusty. A few years ago I tried substitute teaching, it was fun to be with the students but I didn't get to substitute in my prefered subjects very often and even when I did, I wasn't really teaching. I want to show students that these subjects, so often dreaded, are really quite fun and interesting. When I was in high school I did well in english classes but I dreaded history, never in a million years would I have predicted that it would become my major. When I started College I had wonderful literature and english professors, and a miracle of a history professor - he taught me that history is not a timeline of dates to be memorized. It is stories, and it is better than fiction.

***I've just realized I'm always the one behind the camera - I'll try to get a picture of me up asap*** I am a mom of two girls and a naughty little fox terrier. While I've put schooling on hold I've been working in the healthcare industry and supporting my husband in his calling as a fire fighter. In my spare time I enjoy being outside with my family (before my daughters arrived I was an avid backpacker, snowboarder, hockey player and horseback rider). I also enjoy painting, sketching, quilting, and of course - reading. My family is from a small town in Central Utah, my family and I spend most of our vacations in my ancestral home while we dream of traveling abroad.
